During Your Session
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION LAST?
Portrait sessions generally last up to 1 hour, while newborn sessions last anywhere from 2-4 hours. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your session time so it gives you a few minutes to adjust everyone’s clothing and hair.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT DURING THE SESSION?
Expect to go with the flow. Some children aren’t ready to dive into pictures right away. I like to show them my camera and maybe have them help me take a few photos. We will walk around together and talk while I snap photos of your family. This helps to get you and your children comfortable in front of the camera. While we walk around I might ask you to stop for a casually posed photo. I will guide you through how to pose. I want you and your kids to feel relaxed and comfortable while being photographed. Expect to dance, skip, twirl and laugh! If there are young children we may take a couple short breaks so they can run around a bit. Photo sessions are never rushed. I want you to enjoy the experience.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
Bad weather could consist of all day raining, freezing temperatures, or a blizzard. When scheduling in the spring and fall, it could very likely be in the lower 40’s. My best suggestion is dress warm and layer up. If you schedule something in the summer and it’s 90+ degrees we will do our best to find shade. We will work together to find alternative solutions, such as moving the session indoors or finding a covered pavilion, before we cancel the session.
WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY SESSION?
I know that life happens so you can transfer the deposit one time towards another session as long as you give a 48 hour notice. You must reschedule the session within 30 days.
If you cancel the original session less than 48 hours the session fee is non-refundable. The session fee is non-refundable if you cancel the rescheduled session regardless of advanced notice.
DO YOU HAVE PROPS?
I have items to sit on, such as chairs, blankets, and wooden crates, as well as a few props and accessories. When we plan your session, we’ll discuss what will work with your color scheme, the location, and the season. You are welcome to incorporate your own special items as well. Just let me know what props you will be bringing prior to the session so I can prepare for the best way to incorporate the item.
